We had the good fortune of connecting with Patrick Bertagna and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Patrick, what are you most proud of in terms of your business?
We help change lives and save lives. Our mission is to delivery the best health & safety products that have a positive impact on the community at large. Whether its our Smart Wearable technology products such as our GPS SmartSoles designed for people who have a tendency to wander or our Smart NFC temperature reading face masks, or essential work safe protective equipment, we provide products and technology that empowers people to live a better, safer and healthier life.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I started working when I was 7 years old and have never stopped, Everything along the way at some point either felt like this was THE moment of victory or THE moment of defeat and instead what the journey has taught me is only the committed win and keep playing until the clock runs out. There is no one win or one loss.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Los Angeles is so vast and diverse and without traffic is absolutely amazing. Favorite spot to eat, drink and hang out all at the same place, bar none – Dan Tana’s. This is the iconic Beverly Hills/ West Hollywood hang, fantastic food, fabulous martinis and on most nights, serious people watching. For some great outdoor eating The Sunset Restaurant, well worth the drive out to Malibu/Zuma beach and you’ll actually get to see a magnificent sunset. For an eclectic Sushi spot in Little Tokyo DTLA, must go to Sushi Gen – no reservations, usually a wait, but it’s a treat. If you want to eat a great steak or butter cake, while listening to a live performer, Mastros Steak house in Beverly Hills, its fantastic. Another great must go to spot in Santa Monica beach for supper fresh sea food and the best key lime pie, yes better than Joes in Miami go to Blue Plate – for sure have some seamers and the pie for desert, but everything on the menu is tasty. Then walk down the street a few blocks and go have a drink on the rooftop at the Shangri-La Hotel. Perfect way to end the night, staring out at the ocean and glimmering city lights.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Nurses, first responders, essential workers and the GTX team that have been working tirelessly throughout the COVID-19 pandemic.
