On Monday, April 4th, GTX Corp aligned with the Trust 2 Protect Campaign and its Founder and Partners. Trust 2 Protect Founder Jack Brewer, COPsync, Inc. CEO and Trust 2 Protect Campaign Partner Ron Woessner, and The Blue Alert Foundation Founder/Director Tom Berry.
Trust 2 Protect is committed to national change through developing collaborative solutions that bridge the communication gap dividing law enforcement and citizens, and enhancing the National Blue Alertnotification system for officer safety.
Patrick Bertagna, GTX Corp CEO and Trust 2 Protect Sponsor, joined alongside, Mayors, Police Chiefs, Sheriffs, Directors, Judges, Celebrity and Athlete Endorsers, including NFL great and GTX brand ambassador Clinton Portis and the media, for the campaign’s launch event in NYC.
The Trust 2 Protect campaign launch event occurred within the 84th precinct, and focused on aligning officers from the area with the cause. The 84th Precinct is situated in the northwestern section of Brooklyn. It is a diverse Precinct with many ethnic and economic demographics living and working in close proximity. Following the launch event, Mr. Bertagna had a meeting with the NYPD Commissioner’s Office.
The Trust 2 Protect launch events continued on, with an event hosted by the Mayor of Paterson, in New Jersey on April 5th, 2016.
April 5th: Trust 2 Protect Campaign Launch in NJ
Following the initial launch event of the Trust 2 Protect Campaign in New York, GTX Corp and the campaign traveled to New Jersey for an event hosted by the New Jersey Mayor of Paterson, Jose Torres.
As the Mayor of the third largest city in New Jersey, Torres has focused on diminishing crime in the community and has been passionate about bridging the divide between the community and law enforcement. Mayor Torres worked hand-in-hand with the Trust 2 Protect campaign and partners to organize the event in order to highlight the value of Trust 2 Protect for the local communities and introduce the campaign’s mission, to:
- Engage law enforcement departments across America
- Empower departments with the knowledge of the latest safety, communication, tracking and monitoring technologies
- Promote the good work of our brave men and women in blue
Over 60 law enforcement officers attended the event and included speeches from the Mayor and by many of the Trust 2 Protect members, including the campaign’s endorsers, statements from government officials and personal stories from officers and families. Other attendees included COPsync CEO Ron Woessner, Paterson Police Director Jerry Speziale, Paterson Fire Department Chief Michael Postorino, representatives from various law enforcement agencies including the Passaic County Sherriff’s Office and the William Paterson University Police Department, and representatives from Paterson Public Schools and St. Joseph’s Healthcare System.
GTX Corp CEO and Trust 2 Protect Sponsor, Patrick Bertagna spoke on the importance of police presence in the community, law enforcements courage and selfless dedication to keeping all of us safe and how the private sector specifically in high tech industries had an obligation and commitment to developing better technologies and tools for law enforcement. The GPS SmartSoles were discussed as a solution for officers which receive 911 missing persons calls.
On May 10th, 2016 the Trust 2 Protect Campaign will travel to Washington D.C. during police week, and will continue throughout the United States, including Texas and Florida in the coming months.
